Getting to know the Web Controls

The Class Palette in the DataFlex Studio displays an overview of all available Web Controls. These ready-to-use components can be dragged into your web applications. Eventually we will go over every Web Control in this video course. We explain what each does, why they are useful, and how to get them into your web applications!

The WebButton is a control that displays a button on your View. In this lesson we'll look at this control in DataFlex.

The WebCheckBox is a control that displays a checkbox on your view, which you can use to toggle certain states, like enabled/disabled. It can also be data aware, which means you can use it to toggle data. In this lesson we will dive into this control.

The WebColorForm is control that allows the user to select a color. It looks like a form but pops up the Color Picker and sets the value of the form to the colorcode selected in the ColorPicker. In this lesson we will show how to add and use the WebColorForm.

The WebColorPicker in DataFlex renders a color picker control. You can select a color from the map and adjust the saturation with a slider on the right. The color code is shown at the bottom of the control. You can use this color code for all kind of things, like a settings page where the user can adjust colors for different controls in the webapp. In this lesson we'll demonstrate this Web Control!

A WebColumn can be used in a WebList or WebGrid object. A WebList usually consists of several WebColumns per row. These Webcolumns can be used with or without a data binding. Object names of WebColumns must be unique within their parent. In this lesson we will dive into this Web Control.
