For `pixel-perfect', paper-size-aware reporting, DataFlex Reports is the standard. Its integration library allows developers to seamlessly integrate reports in DataFlex applications, Windows or Web. Learn where the product stands, see how it works. At EDUC 2024, see the plan for future: the development of an Enterprise Reporting Portal, aimed at end-users.

Getting Started with DataFlex

Seasoned DataFlex developers understand and appreciate the power of DataFlex. Power that every business should benefit from. Data Access Worldwide looked critically at the DataFlex framework and tooling to identify areas that can be improved, not only for new developers, but for existing developers too. DBAUTO and DFAUTO are the working titles for two large, multi-faceted product improvement projects. Harm will show you where they are today and share where we will take it!

DataFlex Reports in Action

Michael's DataFlex Reports expertise matches the volume of special Feature Requests he made for the product. Kidding aside, the product improved thanks to developers as Michael. Michael has prepared a presentation demonstrating the versatility of DataFlex reports, especially the flexibility that the seamless integration with DataFlex applications, the tool offers.

DataFlex Dashboards

We're excited to announce that the DataFlex Dashboard project nears completion! This new feature is like a mini framework in itself. It could not be completed until several new features, techniques, and classes were added to the standard DataFlex framework. And, it's almost ready now! The main goal of the DataFlex Dashboard is to help developers create dynamic, gorgeous dashboards in no time at all, using standard DataFlex code. No expertise in JavaScript, HTML, or CSS required!

DataFlex Package Manager

In the near future, DataFlex Studio will be your "window" on everything related to your DataFlex code, be it in the Studio, or from fellow developers around the world. And the new Package Manager will help you with that. Within DataFlex Studio, conveniently point at which library you want to add, and Package Manager will make sure to add the correct version to your Workspace.

DataFlex to rescue the Planet

It doesn't work please fix

Tired of users reporting "It doesn't work", "Nothing happens when I click", or a screenshot that doesn't show what you need? Jakob will show how to build screen recording into your application, so your users can send you a video showing the problem. And do so, without users ever leaving your application, installing separate software or figuring out how to upload videos. All from DataFlex, using a (free) custom component that also lets you record from camera and microphone devices.

Security Matters

As software developer, security demands continuous learning, updating and testing. Bram provides clear insights in authorization, authentication and verification. How do OpenID Connect and oAuth relate, and how does it fit DataFlex? Another important security topic discussed will be how to create a highly secure environment for allowing people to upload files to a web portal using the new Secure Upload library in DataFlex. And finally, how can you share highly confidential information quickly, using a very secure method.

From Concept to Code

Course instructor: Robin Hazewinkel

New to the Data Access Worldwide team, Robin's DataFlex journey just started. His interest in DataFlex is very broad, spanning from software consultancy to research & development. His most recent work was in R&D, completing a base layer to support OpenID Connect in DataFlex and he will present how easy it is to import iCal to your agenda. iCal for DataFlex was made by Siam Smeets, a colleague of Robin. This summer Robin also completed a very powerful new web control baptized Hybrid List. The Hybrid List improves the user experience in large `data dense' web applications. Get to know Robin, with a just-get-things-done attitude, bringing concepts to code.

Mixin Magic Dynamic Objects

John will demonstrate how a mixin-based framework makes it simple to change DataFlex applications, both visually and in terms of their behaviour, even at run-time! The fact that all types of applications in DataFlex are developed with the same DataFlex code makes this possible, regardless of whether Windows, FlexTron or Web.
