Continuous Integration is a subset of the DevOps paradigm. It's driven to improve communication and collaboration among development and operation teams. It assists developers to create a build with different contributions of a codebase. The automation will save you a lot of time! In this course we will demonstrate how to use Continuous Integration in DataFlex.

Introduction to the course.

Installing Gitea

Gitea is the version control system we will be using in this course. It is similar to Bitbucket, Github and Azure DevOps. It can be switched with your own version control system. In this lesson we will demonstrate how to install Gitea.

Installing Jenkins

Jenkins is our build orchestrator. In this lesson we will show how to install Jenkins and we will do some preparations for migrating the DataFlex unit sample workspace.

Connecting and creating our first Gitea Team

In this lesson we will connect Jenkins and Gitea using the Gitea plug-in that we installed in the last lesson.

Building our own CI capable project and Conclusion

In this lesson we will create our first Continuous Integration (CI) capable DataFlex project! In this project we will see how unit tests can be run on Jenkins and we will add archival logic.
