Dynamic Objects extend the WebApp Framework with the capability to dynamically create web objects at runtime. In this course, we take a more in-depth look at dynamic objects and what to do with them. Over the course of these lessons, we build a small application using most of the features the dynamic objects framework has to offer.

Dynamic Objects Workflow

Creating an application with dynamic objects almost always follows the same workflow. In this first lesson, we lay out the workflow, explaining all the steps and why they exist.

Step 1: Create a container

In this lesson, we demonstrate the first step: creating the dynamic container.

Step 2: Define object specific behaviour

In this lesson we will look at the second step of the workflow: defining object-specific behaviour. Think of methods, procedures and event handling.

Step 3: Creation phase

In this lesson we will go to the next step: the Creation Phase. The purpose of this phase is to create all the dynamic objects.

Step 4: Activation phase

In this lesson we will cover the next step: the Activation phase. This step is short and simple; it essentially tells the container all initial objects are loaded and properly set up, and the client can now render the dynamic objects

Step 5: Modification phase

In this lesson we demonstrate some of the capabilities of the dynamic objects framework regarding modifying existing dynamic objects. These modifications correspond to the fifth and final step of the dynamic objects workflow.

Other functionalities

In addition to inserting and removing dynamic objects, the modification phase provides support for other types of interactions. This lesson shows some more functionalities.
